📅 When will my plan start & end?

Your plan commences the moment your eSIM first connects to the au Mobile Network powered by KDDI.

The date of that first connection counts as Day 1, and your plan runs until 23:59 JST that same day. For example, if you first connect at 10:45 PM, that will count as Day 1 and Day 2 will begin at 00:00 JST.

Your eSIM plan expires at 23:59 JST on the final day of your selected eSIM plan period.

⏳ How can I extend the days on my unlimited data plan?

You can’t extend the number of days on your existing Japan Unlimited Data eSIM plan.

To keep using unlimited data after your plan expires, simply purchase a new plan Unlimited Data eSIM plan for instant connectivity.

🔄 Can I transfer my eSIM to another device?

No, once your eSIM is installed, it is locked to that device and cannot be transferred.

If you want to use the service on another phone, please purchase a separate eSIM for that device.

If an eSIM plan is reinstalled or activated a second time on the same or another device, the plan will be immediately voided, no refunds or replacements will be provided.

📞 Does the Japan Unlimited Data eSIM let me make Calls and send SMS?

All our Japan Unlimited Data eSIM plans are data-only and doesn't support voice calls or SMS using a mobile number.

You can, however, make calls and send messages using VoIP apps such as WhatsApp, FaceTime, Telegram, or Messenger over your eSIM data.

📡 Can I use tethering or hotspot sharing?

Yes, tethering and hotspot sharing is supported — just enable hotspot mode on your device settings to share your connection.

Each plan includes a hotspot allowance between 2GB and 30GB depending on the duration of your eSIM plan.

📶 What happens if I use all my hotspot allowance?

Once you reach your hotspot allowance, hotspot sharing will stop, however your device’s data will remain unaffected.

Your hotspot allowances can't be topped up— if you require more hotspot data simply purchase a new Japan Unlimited Data eSIM plan.
